We have been learning to manage our sheep flock for over 40 years. Our flock is composed of 2300 Rideau and Rideau/25% Ile De France ewes and 500 ewe lambs to be bred in 2013. Our Rams are now 100% Rideau. We operate a closed flock and have not introduced ewes into the flock for over 20 years. The last rams purchased were in 2007 when we introduced the Ile De France.
We lamb on a year round basis with 144 ewes exposed every 3 weeks. Our overall lambing drop is 240% and 25% of ewes will lamb a 2nd time every year.
We have worked diligantly to develop a flock of ewes that can be managed with a minimum of intervention, high production and low mortality.
We sell replacement ewe lambs, some unregistered Rams and market lambs.
